Charging over 4 years in a land of waterfalls, Beat the Grid is an electric dance dream in an otherworldly cosmic rock lounge. Each song is a commentary on the human experience and the mysteries of life, seamed by silky-sexy, siren-like vocals for a spellbinding, jazz-infused experimental sound. They create a modern mosaic of pop and hip-hop beats, syncopated South American rhythms, driving West African percussion & guitar, and European electro-synth sensations.
Beat the Grid has played in NY with Rubblebucket, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, members of John Brown’s Body, and Sophistafunk — the debut album Beat the Grid (2013) earned praise in the Ithaca Journal and Independent Music News (UK) for its afro-pop-rock aesthetic. Presently based in Brooklyn & beyond, Beat the Grid has begun recording a 2nd album for release by the end of this year.
